Practical help at home
on the Fylde Coast

When everyday jobs start taking more effort, a little practical support can make the house easier to manage. Our home help service covers tasks such as shopping, laundry and preparing meals, with visits built around what your parent needs help with.

Based in Lytham St Annes, we support people across the Fylde Coast. Visits last at least an hour.

When everyday jobs
start piling up

You may notice that the fridge needs restocking, the laundry is building up or changing the bed has become difficult. Family visits can turn into a list of jobs, leaving little time to sit down together.

  • Shopping bags and household chores have become harder to manage.
  • Meals take more effort to plan and prepare.
  • Your parent needs help keeping on top of washing, ironing or bedding.
  • You cannot always be there for deliveries, errands or practical jobs.

Talk to us about the tasks that are becoming difficult and the things your parent would prefer to keep doing themselves.

What home help visits can include

Housekeeping and laundry

Light housekeeping, dusting, vacuuming, washing and ironing. We can make beds, change bed linen, organise wardrobes and cupboards, and take out rubbish.

Meals and shopping

Preparing shopping lists, helping with shopping, checking food expiry dates and preparing meals. Support can also include cooking or baking alongside your parent and tidying away afterwards.

Errands and arrangements

Collecting prescriptions, undertaking errands and overseeing deliveries. We can also supervise home maintenance visits, including gardening, so your parent has someone there while work takes place.

Keeping the home organised

Help with houseplants, pet care and dog walking can be discussed as part of the visits. If your parent is downsizing, ask us about practical help with organising the move.

More time for the parts
of home life they enjoy

Sharing the practical workload can help your parent keep up their routine without having to manage every job alone. The support can focus on the tasks they find difficult while leaving room for the things they still enjoy doing.

Home Comfort Services completes a written summary after each visit, available for the client and family to comment on, and provides regular feedback.
